Yesterday, November 5th, 2017, a gunman dressed in all black
wearing a ballistic vest strapped to his chest and a military-style rifle in
his hands, opened fire on congregants at a Sunday service at a small Baptist
church in rural Texas, killing at least 26 people.
The gunman, identified as a 26 year old Devin Patrick Kelley, An American
who served in the Air Force in New Mexico but was charged in 2012 of assaulting
his wife and child.
He was also sentenced to a 12 month confinement and got a
bad conduct discharge in 2014 according to the chief of Air Force media
operations – Ann Stefanek.
Mr Devin motive for firing at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland
Springs is yet unknown as families of the victims killed in cold blood gathered
in mass, holding onto their Bibles and praying to God.
Officials stated that Mr. Devin started shooting at the church not long
after the Sunday service commenced at 11 a.m.
Armed with a military style
rifle, shooting and killing many inside the small church within minutes with
his victims ranging from 5 to 72 years old and largely children, a pregnant
woman, the pastor’s 14 year old daughter, Brayan Holcombe, the guest preacher
at the church and his wife Karla Holcombe were among the dead.
Investigation are still ongoing.
