Nigeria that provides clean, tailor-made, and cost-effective solutions to

Yesterday, Protergia hosted
key players within the energy sector in Nigeria such as The Minister of Power,
Works and Housing - Babatunde Raji Fashola, Director General, Nigerian Energy
Commission (NERC) - Dr Alhassan Musa, Representative
of the Central Bank Governor - Ebipere Clarks, Dr Edbert Abebe who represented the
General Overseer, House on The Rock Church – Paul Adefarasin, among others, as
it commissioned one of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Nigeria,
the 125kVA (100kWp) at the Citadel & Towers of House on the Rock (HOTR),
the Refuge, Abuja today.
The CEO, Protergia, Ayodeji
O. Deji while giving his speech titled “Let There Be Light” stated that Nigeria
as one of the highest energy and power consuming countries of the world still
needs urgent intervention and innovation in the area of renewable energy
generation and distribution.
“As a nation it would
appear that our progress in renewable energy has mostly been focused on 2
extremes of the value chain namely the large, grid connected utility-scale
projects with over 900MW worth of IPP licenses already issued at one end and
residential systems (usually less than 10kW per unit) already being adopted all
over the country at the other end”.
He added that Protergia as
a renewable energy brand is currently blazing the trail in renewable energy
projects having successfully completed the HOTR project which is not only the
second largest but also the largest plant built by a Nigerian company while the
American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, Adamawa state project is currently
the largest live solar project in any Nigerian University and the largest
carport PV project in Nigeria.
The Minister of Power,
Babatunde Fashola who also gave the keynote address at the commissioning
saluted the courage and doggedness of Protergia as a Nigerian energy brand
having remarkably implemented massive renewable energy projects across the
country within a short time.
“I am highly impressed that
a Nigeria company could do remarkably well in taking giant steps in actualizing
such massive renewable energy projects” he remarked.
He, however, declared that
the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing will not hesitate in partnering with an
excellent brand such as Protergia in her future projects.
