APC Chieftain Urges President Buhari Not To Devalue Naira

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta State Chapter, Chief Ede Dafinone has advised President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government against devaluing the naira, saying he should rather should focus on fixing the economy.

Dafinone while stating this at Ovu in Ethiope East Council Area in Warri, Delta State, noted that everything will fall into place when the economy is fixed.

According to Dafinone, the current exchange rate is only a symptom of the problem indicating that the country is going through recession.

He said, “The exchange rate is only a symptom of the problem. We don’t fix our economy problems by devaluing the Naira. The exchange rate will reach the rate place when the economy is fixed.

“Devaluing will not solve the problem, I think reinvigoration has to come from new investment and possibly such new investment from outside the country may be the fastest way.”

He pointed out that during recession, what the government needs to do is to restructure it’s organ and reinvigorate more investment from abroad.

Dafinone who noted that government’s agency are operated badly, called for their restructuring so as to be more efficient.
