NIKE To Continue Supplying Nigeria Kits Despite Bad Publicity

Kit manufacturers, NIKE, has reversed their decision to pull out of their deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
This means they will resume supply of new sets of kits to the country’s national teams, by the second quarter of 2016.

NIKE initially signed a contract with the NFF in 2015, after the federation’s deal with Adidas
expired, but expressed concerns about bad publicity it was getting in Nigeria.
“NIKE will supply us (NFF) with brand new jerseys by April and we look forward to receiving them,” a top official of the NFF informed
“The jerseys will be for our men and women national teams.

“They were not happy with all the negative stories coming out of Nigeria about the wash and wear jerseys and recently contemplated pulling out of the agreement they have with us.
“At a time we secured the deal with them, things were really tough for us because we approached a lot of kitting companies and they turned us down.
“NIKE were the only company ready to supply kits to our national teams then. For them now to be receiving all this bad publicity is unacceptable.”
The agreement will elapse in 2018.
