Man Kills 2 And Injures 9 In A Movie Theatre In Louisiana

A lone shooter identified as John Russell Houser (58 years old) walked into the Lafayette movie theatre in Louisiana, and fired sporadically killing two people and injuring nine others. The shooter was said to have stood up 20 minutes into the movie Trainwreck, and sprayed bullets into the crowd of movie watchers then attempted to escape with the fleeing crowd. On sighting the police outside the theatre he turned back inside.
A single gunshot was heard inside the theatre again and the policemen as the shooter killed himself with his gun.
According to Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft,  Russell started the rampage by shooting the two people sitting in front of him.
"It's a pretty horrific scene with that many people being shot," he said at a press conference on Friday. In response to a further question from reporters, Craft replied: "What everybody is wondering is why would this guy come here to this theater and start just randomly shooting people? It's too early to have any of those answers."
