Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has appointed Senator Babafemi Ojudu as his special adviser on political matters.
Ojudu represented Ekiti central senatorial district in the upper legislative chamber of the seventh National Assembly.
He reportedly picked up the letter of appointment from the Presidency late Tuesday, January 5.
Ojudu was a member of the Senate between 2011 and 2015 under the All ProgressivesCongress (APC). He served as vice chairman, Senate Committee on Defence in addition to being the spokesman for the APC Senate caucus in the Red Chamber.
He, an accomplished journalist, was one of the active lawmakers in the past senate but decided not to seek re-election in 2015.
Ojudu is famed for his fight against military dictatorship back in the days of the Abacha regime, a disposition that landed him in detention several times.
