Actress Jada Pinkett Smith has taken to her twitter account to voice her opinion on the lack of ‘people of color’ at this year’s Oscars.
This is coming after the Academy Awards released it’s long list of nominees.
The 44-year-old actress joined a lot of people who have accused the Awards of being racist.
She wrote: “At the Oscars…people of color are always welcomed to give out awards…even entertain,” then continued with, “But we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments. Should people of color refrain from participating all together?”
“People can only treat us in the way in which we allow. With much respect in the midst of deep disappointment. J” she concluded.
A lot of movie buffs are sad movies like ‘Beasts of No Nation’ and ‘Straight Outta Compton’ will not be getting the love they envisaged at this year’s awards.
