Nnamdi Azikiwe Int'l Airport Abuja Will Be Shut Down For 3 Days-FAAN



The Federal Airport Authority (FAAN) has announced the closing down of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport runway for three days. Punch Reports that the runway will be closed starting from Saturday to allow airport authorities conduct maintenance on the facility.

Here are excerpts of a statement released by the Coordinating Gneral Manager, Aviation Parastatals, Yakubu Dati:

This facility upgrade, which is in line with ICAO (International Civil Aviation                   Organisation) requirements and NCAA (Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority) approved Safety Standard and Recommended Practices, will further elevate safety and security to greater heights.FAAN hereby apologises for the inconvenience this temporary closure will cause air passengers and airline operators.
